For more than 100 years, expeditions, field work, excursions and field practicals have been an integral part of geology studies at the at the TU Bergakademie Freiberg and at the Helmholtz Institute Freiberg for Resource Technology (HIF).

The photographs in the introductory platform and in the America and Europe Hall of terra mineralia show the diverse methods of practical learning and research in the field, thereby taking you all around the globe.

This photo exhibition will give you a view behind the scenes of geological research and teaching at the TU Bergakademie Freiberg and the HIF.
