Once the Christmas holidays are over or the New Year has been successfully welcomed, the question arises as to what can be done during the Christmas holidays from 25 December 2024 to 5 January 2025. terra mineralia has a colourful and wide-ranging offer for young and old.

The hands-on ‘Research Journey’ laboratory will be open to guests of all ages from 27-30 December 2024 and 2-5 January 2025. Students from TU Bergakademie Freiberg will be there for you and have set up experiments. Get a mineral from the mineral generator and determine it like a real mineralogist. Girls and boys can also solve the Mineral ABC in the exhibition.

There are public guided tours of the entire exhibition on 27 and 30 December at 2 pm and on 29 December at 10:30 am.

The family tour ‘Through the museum at night’ always takes place on Saturdays at 6 pm. Booking is essential here. But please note that the dates during the Christmas holidays are already fully booked. There are alternative dates on 10 and 17 January.

terra mineralia in Freudenstein Castle and the Mineralogical Collection Germany in the Krügerhaus are closed on Christmas Eve, New Year's Eve and New Year's Day. On Monday 30 December we will be open from 10 am to 5 pm. The regular opening hours apply on the other days.
