‘Night Shift’ at terra mineralia as part of ‘A Night at the Museum’

Freiberg night shift at terra mineralia

The Freiberg Night Shift has been running for 15 years: to mark the occasion, terra mineralia is taking part with a very special ‘night shift’ from 6 pm to 9 pm. Equipped with a head torch and a UV torch, visitors will embark on a 30-minute guided tour ‘A Night at the Museum’ through the completely dark exhibition.

The aim is to spot fluorescent minerals in the display cases. In the ‘Research Expedition’ hands-on lab, two small experiments and a creative souvenir await visitors.

The 30-minute guided tours start between 6 pm and 9 pm, individually in small groups, with no need to book in advance. Admission, including the guided tour, costs just €5.00/€2.50 per person.

The large museum shop is also open and can be visited independently of the short guided tours.

The ‘best of’ from 15 years of Freiberg’s ‘Nachtschicht’ will come together on 12 September in the colourfully illuminated old town to mark the anniversary: night-time shopping, a pub crawl and the very best of Freiberg’s culture and cuisine. Freiberg’s alleyways and squares will once again be transformed into a colourful stage. In addition, fashion shows, shopping and culinary events organised by over 30 retailers – and, of course, plenty of live music inside and outside around 10 pubs, cafés and restaurants – invite you to enjoy a balmy summer’s night.

You can find all participating retailers and restaurateurs at www.freiberger-nachtschicht.de.
